TIATRO - PLAY WRITING COMPETITION

Goa Konkani Akademi is announcing its fifth Tiatro - play writing competition with an objective of encouraging the Play - writers and preserving its specialty. The first prize is of Rs. 4000/-, Second Rs. 3000/- and third is of Rs. 2000/-. The first prize winning entry will be published in the book-form.

Writer can choose any subject but it is to be handled with novelty. Writers are to be aware of the fact that the songs (Kantaram) and jokes are the main features of the Tiatro. Any person can take part in the competition. There is no age-bar.
 

Rules of the Competition are as follows:

1. Tiatro could be in Roman or Devnagri script.

2. Tiatro is an performing art, the script must be presentable on stage. It should be such that its presentation should not carry less than one hour or more than one and half hour.

3. The write-up should not be in less than four parts (Podde) and more than seven parts (Podde).

4. In every part of the Tiatro there should be at least one song (related to the story of the Tiatro). No need of side show.

5. A participant can send more than one entry. But for the competition only one of them will be considered.

6. Write-up is to be on only one side of the page. It should be neat and tidy, if handwritten or typed / type set. Pages are to be numbered.

7. The entry should carry full name and address of the participant with phone number. The entry should carry three copies of Tiatro and are to be sent as to reach the Akademi on or before 31st January 2006.

8. A panel of Judges appointed specially for the purpose will scrutinise and three best entries will be selected. The judgement given by the panel will be final and binding to all the participants.

9. The prizes will be given in a special function.
