GKA to create science terminology in Konkani
Panaji Nov.01 – Commission for Scientific &
Technical Terminology, New Delhi, in association with Goa Konkani Akademi and
Directorate of Official language, Government of Goa has undertaken the work of
preparing the terminology on various disciplines of Science. The Commission in
collaboration with the above institutions has so far undertaken some workshops
and has completed the work of preparing the terminology in Botany & soon the
work is expected to go for printing. At present the work preparing the
terminology in Zoology to the above, work of preparing the terminology in
Chemistry has been taken in hand.
To carry out the work of preparing the above citied terminologies the Commission
in collaboration with Goa Konkani Akademi and Directorate of Official language
has organized a 5 day workshop in GKA’s Mons. Dalgado Library Hall which has
commenced on 29th Nov, 07. And it will conclude on 2nd
November, 07.
In this workshop Prof. Priyadarshini Tadkodkar, Prof.Deepa Rani Prabhu, Prof.
Gurunath Prabhu Khanolkar, Shri Mukesh Thali, Dr.Kiran Budkuley are working on
the Zoology Terminology. The work of preparing the Administrative terminology
will be carried out by Prof. Prakash Thali, Shri Pundalik Naik, Prof. Bhushan
Bhave, Dr. Rohitashav Sharma and Prof. Prakash Vazrikar whereas the work of
preparing the terminology in chemistry will be done by Prof. Vrunda Borkar,
Prof. Bhiva mallik, Prof. Satish Bute, Prof. Premanand Phadte and Shri Damodar
Ghanekar.
Dr. Tanaji Halarnakar, Vice-president, GKA and Editor of Konkani Vishwa Kosh is
the Convener of the five day workshop. Shri Umakant Kubalkar, Assistant
Director, Commission for Scientific & Technical Terminology will guide the
participants.
