Dr Tanaji Halarnkar elected new Vice President of GKA

Panaji, 18^th March 06 – Dr. Tanaji Harlankar is unanimously selected as the new Vice-President of Goa Konkani Akademi in the meeting of general council held on 18^th April, 2006. Dr. Tanaji Harlankar’s name was suggested by Shri Anand M. Naik, for the post of Vice-President, and shri Teotonio D;costa supported him and others members of the council expressed their support. The term of the Vice-President will be for three years.

 Dr. Tanaji Harlankar, is veteran Konkani writer. He has edited the four volumes of Konkani Vishwa Kosh published by Goa University. He  was the Ex-Chairman and also Ex-Executive Chairman of all India Konkani Parishad. He was also the member of the outgoing Executive Board of Goa Konkani Akademi.

 As per the constitution of the Akademi the Executive board of akademi formed is as follows:-

1. Prof. Prakash Vazrikar
2. Prof. S. M. Borges
3. Shri Datta D. Naik
4. Dr.Maria Aurora Couto
5. Prof. Bhushan Bhave
6. Shri Tomazinho Cardozo

 Thereafter two special members selected on the Executive Board are 1. Shri Agnelo de Borim 2. Shri Anand M. Naik

 Shri Pundalik Naik, President, Dr. Tanaji Harlankar, Vice-President and Secretary, Official Language are the Ex-Officio Members of the Executive Board.

 In another decision Dr.Edward D’Lima was selected as special invitee on the General Council.
