Panaji 22 Dec 2005 - Shri Pundalik Naik, eminent Konkani writer and President of Goa Konkani Akademi, has congratulated Shri N. Shivdas, noted Konkani writer and former Vice President of Goa Konkani Akademi for receiving 'Sahitya Akademi, Delhi literary Award - 2005' for his short story book 'Bhangar Sall'.

Shri Pundalik Naik has stated in a press release that the decade of 1970 - 1980 is the Golden time for the Konkani short story. The 'Regionality' is the main voice of literature of this period. Shri. N. Shivdas has given his rich contribution to strengthen this regionality by writing short stories based on regional life. His story gives much importance to regional principles and social values. It has established his special place in the world of Konkani literature and now by receiving this Award in the world of Indian short story.

By receiving Sahitya Akademi Award for 'Bhangar Sall' of Shri N. Shivdas the Konkani short story is once again honoured on the National level.
