Konkani Akademi mourns the demise of Vishwacharitrakoshkar

Panaji – 16th Feb, Panaji,Goa- Shriram Pandurang Kamat, the editor-in-chief of Vishwacharitrakosh, the Marathi Encyclopedia of World Biography passed away on 15th February morning, in a hospital at Belgaum. The Goa Konkani Akademi has expressed grief over the sad demise of Shri Shriram Kamat.

President of Goa Konkani Akademi, N Shivdas has said in a condolence press note issued here that the 'Encyclopedia of World Biography' work done by Shri Kamat is of invaluable nature. He also stated that Shri Kamat will be remembered time immemorial for this contribution of his. He also added that he has honoured Konkani writers by adding the biographies of Konkani writers in the Encyclopedia. He further stated that Konkani Akademi will be indebted to him for his valuable help in republication of two of the books of poems of Shri Bakibab Borkar- Sasai and Paijana.
