CHILDREN NOVELETTE WRITING PROJECT
Children Literature has been a neglected field in
Literature so far in our State. Writers choose their topics or subject according
to their interest or ability. Some may have the interest and ability to
contribute valuable in the field of children literature, but may not get
sufficient boost. Looking into the importance of the field, Goa Konkani Akademi
has come out with Children Novelette Writing Project.
Rules of the Project
Name of the project : Children Novelette Writing
Project.
This project is for Konkani Writers, for valuable
contribution.
Writer may choose any subject for the novelette.
But he should mention the age group for which it is meant.
Writing of novelette is to be in proper format of
a Novel. It should cover about 100 pages or two small novelettes (each of 60
pages) may cover more or less 120 printed pages.
Novelette will be scrutinized by Editorial board
of Akademi or a special committee or an expert.
The literature which is expected will be published
by the Akademi as its own publication.
Writer will receive 15 copies and an honourarium
of about Rs. 8000/- (about 10% royalty)
Honourarium will be given in two installments, one
after the acceptance of the write-up for printing and other after printing the
book by implementing all the suggestions/changes suggested by the committee.
A meeting of selected writers was called in the
Hall of Goa Konkani Akademi on Tuesday 27th December, 2005 to give the details
of the Project and make an agreement. Famous writer Shri Damodar Mauzo guided
the meeting. The President, Goa Konkani Akademi, Mr. Pundalik N. Naik chaired
the meeting.
Besides the writers who were invited for the
meeting other interested writers can also participate in the project as stated
by the Goa Konkani Akademi. For more details, writers may contact the Akademi's
